On 27th July 1936, a licence fee was paid to kick off greyhound racing at Dapto, and Dapto Agricultural & Horticultural Society sub-committee was chosen to control greyhound racing. The first event of greyhound race and the meeting was held on the 25th February 1937 which offered prize money of £108, and the club was approved to organise 40 race meetings a year. The present-day scenario The Dapto Greyhound Racing Club had a track of grass until late 1991, but after that, it was one of the first Greyhound racing tracks to become Loam. It provided greater ease for the participants as they could race at a more incredible speed. The Dapto Greyhound Racing Club completed further improvements to finish off the bar and office in 2006.
